1. I wouldn't think anyones going to hire you simply because you have rigging kit
2. Buy it as you need it. I have a stein bollard and hardly ever use it. Its great when I need it though.
3. I think they're great. Use mine mostly in the summer. I have used both the Stihl and Husky extensively. Theres nothing between them really. The Stihl is a bit quieter, thats about it really.
4. Curious what makes you think that? Its been around for years and has always been a hard sell as far as I can make out.
5. looks like an acacia of some description
6. I am going to close this purely on the grounds that Jon is not here to respond.
7. I think it had died anyway, till you bumped it
8. I can see the seat harness catching on
9. clipping to your spliced eye using a small krab, for pulling your rope up
10. Where are you getting your liros? My fave ever line was a liros, the white one with the red core. I'd love to get my hands on some more of that. I've hated nearly every line I've used since with a passion
11. be far better with a loop on the bottom as well. Good work though
12. I had a few movies muted in the past for copyright reasons, then randomly reinstated again. Likewise I have a few that you tube let the music play but the ad revenue goes to the copyright holder instead of me. Very few if any tree videos are likely to ever go viral so wouldn't let the loss of ad revenue out you off from using a tune
13. This about says it all! [ame] [/ame]
14. actually that will be pretty easy when the new site goes live, it on my list of things to do.
15. Sorry to hear that mate. I see you put it on arbsafe, thanks!
16.
known glitch mate. Resizing images will fix it for now. This and a host of other issues will be fixed with the updated arbtalk site, bare with!

17. Heres some advice I was given years ago which really helped me out. Its down to frame of mind as your title so aptly puts it. Next time you nip up a little fruit tree to prune it, you know the type, 10ft off the ground with an open crown that you comfortably step from branch to branch, no harness, and not a care in the world. You need to capture that frame of mind you are in and then apply it equally when you are 70ft up a tree.
18. I think you did the right thing, seems the company owner appreciated it. Its how you approach these things that makes all the difference to how its received.
19. Nice bit of timing with all those tops going over August. Would have been gutting if it hadn't played out. Not the sort of thing you get the opportunity to catch so often!
20. Start a new thread Reg, your request will likely go unnoticed in this thread.
21. keep us posted Maria, welcome to the wee chipper club(that im not in)
22. Apologies for the disruption to service. This may happen from time to time over the next few weeks while we are playing around with the new development.

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.
If you're just starting out and you need business, equipment, tech or training support you're in the right place. If you've done it, made it, got a van load of oily t-shirts and have decided to give something back by sharing your knowledge or wisdom, then you're welcome too.
If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
Please have a look around, sign up, share and contribute the best you have.

See you inside.
