  1. What factories are shutting currently?
  2. It’s not racist at all!
  3. I have been wondering how they were doing. Drove past my local one a couple nights ago and they had the usual amount of cars parked out front
  4. They'll be fine. What conifers are you planning on using?
  5. Marlow Ropes, the leading Commercial and Leisure Marine rope manufacturer officially announces the introduction of their new environmentally-conscious innovation; the BLUE OCEAN RAPTOR Lowering Line made using 100% recycled waste plastic bottles. Every day more than 16 million plastic bottles end up in landfill in the UK alone, and this latest innovation from the pioneering UK rope manufacturer uses their engineering expertise to make an environmental difference; through the development of a high-quality premium Lowering line rope made using 100% recycled plastic bottle yarn. Managing Director, Jon Mitchell explains how the new product evolved; “When we found out about the astonishing quantities of plastic bottle waste, we knew we had to act, and sought partners who had the expertise to develop and produce quality rPET (recycled polyester) yarn. This, combined with our knowledge of engineering plastic polymers, allowed the innovation to become possible.” For every 1m of Marlow’s 16mm BLUE OCEAN LOWERING LINE, 7.5 waste plastic bottles are used to make it and this latest product launch demonstrates the UK company’s environmental commitment, as Jon expands on here: “We hope that by introducing this new product to the Arb market, it will encourage other manufacturers to act, enabling us as a manufacturer to make further progress towards a circular economy. Our ultimate goal is to switch all our polyester fibres from virgin PET to rPET.” The Blue Ocean’s unique construction offers the same popular attributes as the normal Raptor and Marlow’s other Arboriculture products including good abrasion resistance and shock absorption with soft and supple flexibility with zero strength loss or shrinkage but in an environmentally friendly way. The Blue Ocean range extends into Marlow’s Leisure Marine industry encouraging a more sustainable approach to the rope manufacturing industry. For further information about the BLUE OCEAN Lowering line and Marlow’s commitment to eco-conscious practices visit www.marlowropes.com and the Arb Show in Cirencester between 15th – 16th May. We will be exclusively talking about the Blue Ocean Lowering line along with other sustainable new products being introduced.
  6. what are you going to be using the ground saw for? They are getting better and better now, especially the newer Stihls(don't have any experience with the Husky), but for my a sole ground saw i'd still be sticking with a petrol saw for the time being, unless you are just using it for snedding out for the chipper etc
  7. Here you go. I doubt 90% or arborists will ever use most of these techiques, and the 10% that do could probably easily find other options, but this shows you some of the additional advantages the DMM can offer
  8. Not sure about being better built but its certainly sexier! The ISC is pretty much bomb proof, used them for years. The DMM offers other advantages if you want to get really technical(see some of treemagineers videos), but for a regular rigging block you wont go wrong with ISC
  9. Congratulations
  10. Thanks for the clarification
  11. incompetence perhaps?
  12. No doubt the HSE will be using this to support their demand for 2 rope working
  13. Thats what I thought. I think they need to clarify exactly what they mean by this spring.
  14. I wasn't aware there were springs in those cams?
  15. I haven't touched it ?
  16. That’s surprising!
  17. Trying adding yourself here, you might get the next load free! https://arbtalk.co.uk/recycling
  18. Not yet mate, all the data’s on the server but functionality is a long way off
  19. No problems sleeping anytime other than night though ?
  20. Yeah pretty good, not sleeping great though of course! She is tongue tied which is making it hard to feed her. Getting that sorted on the 5th hopefully
  21. Tried this one?
  22. It’s a quick route to getting your tickets and with a reputable company. Don’t expect to be anything more than a qualified beginner on minimum wage at the end of it though
  23. Have you tried the sawmill directory? Not sure if there’s anyone in your area, worth a check though https://sawmillers.co.uk
  24. Yep, that all went up in smoke a long time ago now!
