  1. Nonsense about it not being any good for firewood. They are looking to claw back their costs by chipping it all and selling for biomass
  2. This is going to put a massive strain on Tesco’s
  3. Perfect. Now if everyone out of work goes litter picking the country will be spic and span is no time. Best thing that could happen is if they never reopen
  4. Yep, although any wound on a tree is a potential entry point for pathogens and decay...would have been a better time of the year to do this but it will survive
  5. Birch will do that at this time of year. I’d be sticking my head beneath it and drinking it if I were you, very refreshing.
  6. King theoden And sorry for both your losses
  7. Just checking, it’s not April 1st today is it? Marvel announces first non-binary character – called Snowflake APPLE.NEWS Super(hero) news!
  8. You’ll be kept busy unblocking sewers by the sounds of it ?
  9. Yep been that way in my local Tesco’s for the past week now
  10. Oh come on, who wouldn’t be out of their depth?
  11. Not as yet but I have no renewals due. Generally speaking in times of financial difficulty those who can afford to, increase their advertising, for example I did ok in the last financial crisis. This is somewhat different though so who knows what will happen this time. It’s not looking promising though
  12. You’re going to make a Coronial
  13. Absolutely. And in the grander scheme of things its only adding £16 a month onto my monthly payment....but its still not exactly what I would have considered a mortgage holiday
  14. Struggling to get my head around this. I phoned the bank yesterday to take advantage of this 3 month holiday that the government has made possible, believing that it would just add 3 months on to the end of the mortgage, or the monthly payments would be adjusted to make up for the break. The payments were indeed adjusted, but also the 3 missed payments they say will be added onto the mortgage, ie my overall debt will raise by the equivelant of 3 months payments. I am quite struggling to get my head around how that is a mortgage holiday, unless I am totally missing the point i would actually end up paying them for the privelege.
  15. I've cancelled everything I can. Missus's car insurance cancelled, shes on maternity leave so wont be using it anyway.
  16. Hi Martin, you need to add your site here https://arbtalk.co.uk/recycling
  17. We are quite rural here and now that the kids have been let out of school the only place I plan to go is food shopping so hopefully risk or getting it is minimal. Plan to do most of my shopping at the little village store. More worried about the financial impact than anything else
  18. Todays flights. At least Russia are taking things seriously
  19. If this is still going on in 9 months time we'll have more to worry about than nappy shortages
  20. These mortgage repayment breaks are a very welcome gesture. Trying to get through to the banks on the phone is another story though
  21. Unfortunately, the Arboricultural Association has had to take the decision to cancel this years’ ARB Show which was due to take place on Friday 15th and Saturday 16th May. We know how disappointing this news will be for many involved, from our exhibitors who have been busy preparing for the event, to the thousands of visitors who look forward to it each year. We have taken the decision to cancel with the world in an unprecedented situation grappling with a global pandemic of COVID-19, and public health must remain everyone’s priority. We are extremely grateful to our exhibitors, as well as our principle sponsor STIHL and all who have supported the event. All exhibitors will be offered a full refund. We do not have any plans at this time to reschedule this show this year. If you have any questions, please contact: Sophie Chappell (Events Coordinator) 01242 522152 (Extension 209) [email protected]
  22. I think it will be more for larger companies with certain amount of employees, who knows
  23. Sorry to hear that!
  24. Local tesco store is getting worse and worse by the day. Quite depressing walking round there today. I have mostly got enough supplies but am going for fresh stuff, of which there is no shortage of currently.
