Not in the slightest, have you been paying any kind of attention to what they are demanding of us? Not only that but they have publicly voiced that they wish to punch us as an example to other EU members that to leave is suicide. So no, its not about having our cake and eating it its about getting a fair deal. Sometimes to get a fair deal when selling you put in a higher selling price, then the buying party low balls you and eventually you meet in the middle. Its kind of hard to put in a higher selling price when the children behind you shout out what you'd be willing to settle for and scupper it.

The whole notion of being punished is facile at best. The only thing that will 'punish ' the uk is it's own inability to convincingly carry out a negotiation. My imagination is truely staggered.

Er, yep, how to negotiate, ask for the moon to get a piece of the sky..

What May's been up to I imagine.. threatening a hard brexit as better than no deal.. but she want's deal, only they ain't listening because they know what negotiations are about too..

The real strategy is to get the Europeans to soften their stance on immigration, they on the other hand can wait her out knowing thats all she has..

still, they might cave on that in the end, and thats what they were mostly discussing at the last EU meeting.. how to solve the migrant crisis..

Yet that is what Junker has said. Its not something I just made up off of the top of my head you know. :/

We've voted Brexit and still the remoaners try and scupper it for the whole of the UK just to say I told you so. Instead of the country coming together and getting the best deal they would rather see us lose out and in the end its people like us who will pay the price, not the run of the Mill Labour voters who if they work at all generally make minimum wage. Surprisingly there seems to be a few oddball Labour Voters on this site which I find bizarre.

]Are you on somethin?[/b].. all the traffic points to May being a liability' date=' she said she'd stay as long as she was wanted.....

Until they ask her to leave.

Seems pretty clear to me a campaign is under way to find a successor. Hammond would seem the ideal candidate. for one, unlike Boris, he isn't a divisive candidate.. and two, he comes across as a decent fella who knows what he's doin.. unlike May and Corbyn..[/quote']

Nope, are you?

Being PM right now is a bit of a poison chalices, IMO, I'm pretty sure no one is queuing up to take it on. I admire her for sticking in there.

Unlike you I don't claim to be a prophet.

Who know's what the future holds, I'm simply expressing an opinion :001_smile:

I don't agree, a deal with the EU is not the be all and end all. We've left (are leaving) the EU and joining the rest of the world. We will no longer be shackled by Brussels in who we trade with and get penalized for it. It has them very scared it you agree with that or not is neither here nor there. Obviously we cant show to much of our hand because officially we are not allowed to start trade talks till we actually leave but is anyone naïve enough to believe its not happening? :D Yet there is still autistic screeching from the Remoaners and the Commies about what Mays plan is. Its baffling that they expect an answer on that, its akin to going to battle and expecting the battle plans posted on line for all to see. The left are Children, dreamers and children.

A prothet?..

I'd say analyst of sorts. big companies pay good money for people like me who spend time looking at the world and seeing how things might pan out..

And I'd say Hammond would love to take on the job right now, not least so he can give her the boot, or quash any political dreams she might even now harbour for herself.. she was gonna sack him, and Boris too for that matter.. so even Boris might support Hammond.. never thought of that but it makes some sense..

Mate, I voted to leave the EU. Just because I want a party in charge who don't shaft 'the little man' doesn't make me a balloon.

Do you really think that the current government is up to the job?

In what way do you feel "shafted" by the tories?

Up to the job of getting the best deal for the UK? Yes, by far better than any other Party that I can think of. Lets not forget the Tories are a bunch of capitalist greedy gits so they are not gonna bend over and take it from the EU like Labour would. They are ruthless as they come and if we're gonna be backed into the corner by the EU they will fight tooth and nail.
