Making the news today....

The year is 2006 and your author is seventeen ish and working in an outdoor shop. I was sent to Luton for a week to sell woolly hats off a barrow in the Arndale centre. It was boring as hell and I was glad to pass the time chatting to anyone who had the time. One bloke must have spent two hours telling me about how he was being watched, how the security services had it in for him, how the police were corrupt etc. The bloke in question was pretty brown and pretty talkative. Only occurred to me a couple of years ago that I might have had a brush with fame.

hot off the press - Labour HQ planning to raise state pension age to raise money to house more asylum seekers

From a UCL study:

"Immigrants from outside the EU countries made a net fiscal contribution of about £5.2 billion, thus paying into the system about 3% more than they took out. In contrast, over the same period, natives made an overall negative fiscal contribution of £616.5 billion"

The notion that immigrants are a financial drain on society is demonstrably untrue.

10 years, probably out in 6 unless someone inside takes it upon themselves to do the job properly... just throw him out the airlock and be done with it!

Apparently he'd offer to rehome dogs on Facebook and gumtree and the like if the original owners couldn't look after it any more... and send pictures of them still alive after he'd already killed them, if they messaged asking how they were getting on.

What the f*ck! 10 years?! Obviously, as a smelly hippy I think prisons should be primarily for reform and rehabilitation (and yeah, maybe a little bit of punishment...), but not for the likes of this! Chain him to a tree and leave him for the ants.

He should be raped by a Neapolitan Mastiff then tortured by a pack of rabid wolves .

2000 to 2010 would have been largely Eastern European by origin surely?

Those men and woman would have grown up during communism or at it's very twilight and flourished when they immigrated to a free market.

People from the Baltic states integrate very, very well over here at least. The people from Africa and the ME do not.
