Sounds like you're questioning me as well?

My 'day' job is a motorcycle mechanic, increasingly part time.

That makes more sense 👍🏻

what do you ride? I’m a big single fan, have an F650 and an SLR650

OK, fair enough. 👍

I ride whatever I'm working at, could be a stepthru in the morning and a Hayabusa in the afternoon.

Personally I've a collection of two-strokes, but increasingly think it's unlikely I'll ever do much with most of them and they should be dispersed for others to get pleasure from.

But who knows, I'll probably keep them a few more years until I retire (God willing!) and see then.

I have a lot of customers on minimum wage who just keep their head down, work away making the best of it, and gurn far less than people earning considerably more.

Don't try to tell me they are figments of my imagination.

Being opinionated is one thing, talking out of your arse is something else.

I used to think you were the former, but increasingly think you're most likely the latter.

Thats because those on minimum wage pay no income tax and get a raft of benefits. Its still these people I hear day in day out whinging about their bills. People earning considerably more are funding those on minimum wage and get shafted left right and center and actually have a genuine reason to complain.

Well the feelings mutual, you seem to fall into the latter as well. Your barely concealed jealousy of your in-laws is quite unbecoming.

People in full time work earning the minimum wage do pay income tax, you are correct that lots, not all of them get benefits.

It needs putting an end to, companies making huge profits are paying minimum wage and us tax payers make up the difference.

Minimum wage and full time will see that person pay £1500 a year in Income Tax. The vast majority if not all will have that topped up with a raft of benefits that will outweigh any token tax paid.

And what are these raft of benefits you seem to presume they all claim?.

Or are you hinting the feckless baby breeding types ?. Which I definitely agree should be limited to two kids, any more and it's no more additional benefits.

Yes, but there are many on minimum wage who don't get benefits. A single person with no children would get no benefits which they would have to make up by doing overtime, which means they would pay more tax.

The fact still remains, companies are making huge profits and we are paying for it.
