Why is killing young people worse?

Are you a father? It's human nature to care for the young. This guy attacked kids on purpose

I dont see how my reproduction is relevant? But yes, ive two daughters. Id be devestated if anything happened to them, but so would my own parents if ought happened to me, would my death (im approaching 40) be any less troubling?

Life is a struggle, quite a lot of hardship even for the lucky amongst us.

As I said, I'm near 40, so got another 40 left perhaps (if the deity of choice wills it) so is there an age limit where it gets less bad for a person to die?
