And as has already been linked in this thread, finally we can stop being called racist for pointing out that the rape gangs are overwhelmingly Pakistani men.  After years of denial this is now acknowledged.  In some cases young girls were convicted of child prostitution whilst rapists got off scott free.  It makes me ashamed of my country.

I don't think that calling out a predominantly Pakistani rape gang is racist. Who told you it was?
Tarring all Pakistanis with the same brush is probably racist, but I don't think anyone is doing that either.

You probably dont think its all that bad that for decades Israel has been taking Palestinian land in the West

Does that justify in any way the attacks in October?

If so,how?

Looks like the IDF's goal is to collapse Hamas so that the Palestinian people can have the chance of forming a government without fear of being persecuted for holding beliefs that aline with 21st century thinking.

Now that Hamas has had a kicking,Israel is moving its attention to Iran and about bloody time it did. This time it has the American fleet watching its back as a warning to others.

I wonder if Hamas realises how spectacularly it's attacks have failed? Or even care?

Well our Prime Minister for one.  Look back to the reaction of the government at the beginning of the year on this issue.

Justify isn't the word I would use, but if you are a Palestinian in the West Bank the Israeli settlers turfing you out of your home must be unpleasant to say  the least. Palestinians have been murdered in the West Bank if they try to resist the encroachment of Israelis onto their land. And Netanyahu's government has been authorising ever more expansions into the Palestinian territory. The international community, with exception of US view Israeli settlements in the West Bank as illegal, but no country dares to put it's foot down and intervene for fear of the United States.

Of course Hamas attack has failed, anything they could have ever conceived would have failed, they didn't have any strength at all and hardly any heavy firepower. With the US backing Israel the Palestinians can't really fight back against their land being taken.

EDITION.CNN.COM

Israel approved a massive expansion of Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank this week in a move described as a continuation of de facto annexation of the territory.

The world is moving backwards in time, w.r.t. to international law. Thanks to the efforts of Trump and Netanyahu. Israel are demonstrating that they can do what the hell they want, sod the UN, ICC and ICJ. Trump is determined to undermine all those global institutions that were designed to keep the citizens of the world safe, by keeping the despots like Putin and Netanyahu in check. Hardly surprising for a man who values transactions over people, with scant regard for humanitarian concerns. (We see the same with the US withdrawing from the WHO and the Paris Agreement).

All that progress made after WW2 is rapidly being erroded. Depressing.

But they were always wishful thinking and it just needed the likes of Putin to expose the paper tigers, aided by the US indicating they wouldn't support UN or Nato unless it was in their direct interest.
