I don’t see the contradiction, the law currently bans hunting with dogs unless used to push foxes to guns.
I think the law is an ass, but if hunts go ahead and break it they should be prosecuted. Don’t punish all for the crimes of some.

Your comment re hunting and toffs underscores my point, you and many others are misled.

Finally if you enjoy any sort of shooting or fishing I’d be careful who you choose as bedfellows.. LACS and the hunt sab nasty brigade won’t stop until all are banned.

BS. How many working class people can afford that kind of lifestyle? Horses, Poncy get-up's, the Dogs, the Dogs training, the land. You're delusional if you think its a sport for the common man. They may well tolerate a few peasants joining them to have a veneer of being for the people but thats about it.

I agree with you here. The Scabs are certainly not the kind of people Id associate with. Im sure they fall into the same  category as the insulate Britain mob. Attention seekers with little better to do with their time. Perhaps they are a necessary evil though as they appear to have single handedly had Fox Hunting Banned and enforce that ban far more than any Police Force would. 

 

The difference in my opinion is the word humane. I dont have anything against hunting, fishing or shooting of vermin. I dont Hunt but wish I had the time for it and I rarely fish for the same reasons. But I detest Fox Hunting or the "wink wink, we're just pretending today, woops the dog caught a Fox and we had to dig them both out the den and we could not stop the Dog ripping it to pieces" hunting.

Please qualify what you mean by "humane". Many hunters have a strong sense of custodianship. You seem to use "humane" in terms of managerial cost-benefits and clean efficiency which many would say is limiting in outlook, even reductive.

Humane as in a clean shot and not an intentionally prolonged death, for example traps, poison or getting ripped to shreds by a pack of hounds.

I dont have plenty money, Ive never stated that. I'll admit Im paid fairly well though. As are you.

I merely suspected you equate your personal convenience with what is humane. And so it is. You equate the humane with quantifying the measureable. Quickly! Cleanly! How very managerial! For someone who lives in a remote area of a sparsely populated country, you're not very rural are you? And why so snide? Are you a moderator?

Well yes, in the context of dispatching an animal that is generally the definition of humane. As opposed to a protracted and painfilled death as per the examples I have previously mentioned.

Im not really sure that equating enjoying the slow and painful death of animals with living in a rural part of the UK goes hand in hand. Having lived in remote parts of Scotland most of my life I have yet to find someone who shares your definition of rural, and I hope I never do.

making the news today: a load of trees fell down in the high wind and dickheads are all walking under them to walk the dog and take photos of them.

and then probably complaining that the local council should have "done something" about these trees, and conveniently forgetting they protested whenever the council tried to sort the trees.
