She was probably within her rights to just shoot him, she shouldn’t have mentioned the Taser, it makes her look incompetent.

Good point.

As with all these highly emotive cases it’s best letting the courts who see all the evidence decide before they start looting and destroying their own neighbourhoods again.

We only see and read what sells newspapers.

I think if the guy had done what he was told the situation would never have happened.

When I was young and very stupid there was an occasion when I found myself being detained by armed police. The only thing in my mind, despite being drunk and extremely wound up, was listen carefully and do exactly what I was told. Didn't even consider another option.

Worked out too. Being quiet, compliant and saying yes sir a lot to the chaps with the guns led to a night b&b and a lift home in the morning. Everyone was happy with how it ended!

The officer had 26 years service. A guy clambering into his own car in front of three cops can hardly be stressful.  My impression is that it's a horrible mistake, handgun being mistaken for taser.

How big a mistake - in terms of the error itself, not the consequences - and how justifiable or not is something we won't know for a long time.

Happening so near the George Floyd shooting and so soon afterwards - well you couldn't make that up.

This . Considering each " weapon " should be on different sides of your body . She should have shouted " gun , gun , " ...

But she never, she shouted Tazer, Tazer Tazer. There's little point in not mentioning the Tazer when there is video footage of her screwing up and saying just that.

Surely having both weapons painted the same colour and remarkably similar appearance is something that needs looked at?
