European powers were scared the revolution in Russia would spread through Europe. That's why fascism was supported.
Imagine working people running there own country without the ruling classes.
Hence American support for Mussolini etc.
Jewish terrorism?
No.
They won.
(Against the British)
If you win you're a freedom fighter.
If you lose you're a terrorist.

History is written by the victors.

The footage is shocking and (should be) of great concern (and embarrassment) to the Spanish government and EU / democratic governments across the globe.

Meanwhile, sympathy & membership of Euskadi Ta Askatasuna and the Basque National Liberation Movement take an unexplained serge....  o.O

Who'd have thought I'd ever be able to watch something forwarded by (Socialist Voice – the home of Hard-Left Socialism) and find myself in agreement....  What a 'progressive' world we live in...

I didn't actually see where the original post came from.  It's annoying that the media is reporting that there were 'Clashes'  between police and protestors.  It looks pretty one sided to me.

hmmm, in two minds about the Catalonian indy referendum. I'm a great believer in people power and such votes...however, Spain is Spain and the majority of Spaniards would vote to keep it intact. Imagine if the SNP just held their own referendum and told us they were breaking away from the Union?. Either way, the Spanish Police are heavy handedly, being used for political purposes - sad to see....

:confused1: Am I missing something? is that not exactly what happened? except they voted to stay. I don't recall being given the opportunity to vote.

I know he's a bit of a laugh and all that.

But if he's coming out with crass rubbish like this, he should be out on his arse.

No judgement whatsoever.

The underlying concept is quite accurate and forward thinking - just the kind of ‘progress’ that might bring longer term stability to the immediate, and broader, region.

Stability, investment, economic prosperity, social development, education, healthcare etc... Yes, just like Dubai.

If only the tribal / cultural / religious / geo-political interests could be overcome....

Concept - good.

Delivery - not good!

Its alright for minions to speak in blunt realities but I guess we should expect better from our international states persons?

Prediction:

May = +/- 2 years

then,

The Mog = >5years

then,

Boris....

(complete absence of Labour for the next 15 years is not by accident!)
