Also the word "virgin" is a miss translation, the koran actually says 72 figs, which were a highly prised sweet food at the time of writing, these guys really are clowns.

If only we could convince the would be jihadi gangster of this. Paradise would lose some of its appeal for sure.

Evening Richie.

From what I can ascertain, suicide is indeed against the teachings of Islam, martyrdom is not. They don't see blowing themselves up as suicide (suicide bomber is a term invented by the west). They see it as dying in a glorious religious battle defending the faith.

Quran (4:74) - "Let those fight in the way of Allah who sell the life of this world for the other. Whoso fighteth in the way of Allah, be he slain or be he victorious, on him We shall bestow a vast reward."

Whether or not Jihad needs to be commanded by a high authority seems to be a pretty moot point.

Nope their still stuffed they can't get around the Claus of dying at a time of their choosing and osama et all ain't no highly religious figure. So sadly no likey no figy

I can't find anything that reliably backs up this claim. There does however appear to be a huge discrepancy amongst Islamic scholars around what is allowable in terms of martyrdom killings. These range from anything goes, through no women, children and non combatents to be killed, to all killing is forbidden.

This does give us some hope for the future if we can big up the nice guys. I would still argue that the only 'foolproof' way forward is to educate Gods out of the human psyche all together, negating the need to gamble on a peaceful interpretation.

And give this life the true value it deserves as the one and only life we each get.

And what value would you give life if you were born in a sh1thole, messed up 3rd world country?

The same as you give your life now?

Probably not eh!

It's easy for us to criticise from our comfortable positions.

Greed is more dangerous than religion, but barbaric acts will always be carried out "in the name of religion".

It seems to be the best way to justify it.[emoji849]
