I'm in the market for an angle grinder. I do not want a cheap one but one that will be for the job. It will be used for sanding and carving I guess. I'm presuming a Bosch or Mikita but which model is recommended. Around £100 mark maybe?

Any suggestions much appreciated.

Cheers Sean

i think most angle grinders are much the same but i think you'd be safe with a makita.

I used and abused a 4" Sealey for many years, cutting car panels, slabs, RSJs, all sorts - lasted far longer than it should have given the beating it took. Currently using a Bosch for the last few years - also seems pretty robust

I've used bosch for years, they're pretty good.

Recently bought a dewalt variable speed which is really handy when full speed is too much. Should be able to pick one up in your budget.

If you fancy something a little different to Japanese made then I highly recommend "METABO" . Iv got cordless kit and there grinders are very typically German built.
