Interesting that, I have moss growing on my roof which is 5 yrs old, been doing a couple of roof jobs lately and the slate has probably been on 60-70yrs +, no moss! And no copper nails, mainly old cut nails.

I'd read about armillotox online but apparently it's not made anymore, and the remaining stock is about £90 a bottle!

I'm pretty sure that it's been rebranded as a patio cleaner.

It will kill all fungi still, as far as I know, including the beneficial mycorrhiza in the soil if it runs off.

scbk,

I've tried many different products over the years and we no longer have the good ones that used to work!

Jeyes fluid works well but stinks, i like the smell but customers dont!!!

recommend MMC Pro, it works

Copper nails holding the slates on will not get the rain running over them. They won't work the same as copper nails poked in ridge joint.

I was told strip a bit of copper flex and run it either side of the ridge, not tried it as moss on roof isn't a big problem here.
