Got to be big reductions on a beech or oak, something you can get a bloody good anchor in and get right out on the tips. Also fine it satisfying when I have done a grade A reduction. And drive past it a few times afterwards :-).

Rigging stems is always good fun too.

Driving to work in the pissing rain knowing i'll be in the forwarder all day in the warm and dry as opposed to getting soaked all day out on the saw felling.

Probably the feeling when you get down after a lightish reduction on a big old oak or beech and you stand back, have a look and think that looks ace. (Happens about one in twenty)

i like it when client says "don't worry about tidying those branches/sawdust up we'll do it at the weekend"

 

i.e when you just have to climb and not tidy up!

Getting that beaming smile and firm handshake from a happy customer knowing they will recommend you..... all the while thinking 'did I actually pull that off ok! '

I quite like it when you have had good slog of day and upon return to workshop think, I'm going to service top handle. You end up giving it a good strip out and get it in good clean condition and it fires up straight away first time around, post service checks. Then lock all away and crash open a beer. Ticks my box.
