Struggling to get the clutch off my 550

Skyland, part no. 575251401 is for the three shoe clutch on the 560, Mark Bolam your contribution only fits the domestic clutch as fitted to the 36/136/41/141/137/236/240 as i said the tool is part no. 502541601, if i ever catch any body inserting anything into the cylinder to lock the piston i will insert somthing into them DONT DO IT.

Thing is, the bloody clutch is on there so tightly there's no chance compression alone will do it, I could hold on to the cooling fins on the ignition side but they are ally and I wouldn't want to stress them, not to mention the fact I don't know what other stress this may cause to the motor. Is there something else you recommend?

Are there two types of clutch for the 550 ? One I did the other day knocked off with a combi spanner and mallet and looked like a 346 clutch the other one looked like a 560 clutch on it infact we used the 560 tool to get it off and it was a total pita thought the crank was going to bend!!

Should have said mate, that pic from eBay was for illustrative purposes only.

The tool I got was for a 540, because I thought I was going to bust it.

It was also great for getting it tight back on, otherwise it can and will spin off.
