Unless you are on a some kind of bonus scheme that can be stopped if you break something until it’s paid back he can’t make you pay for it from your main wages.
That’s got employment tribunal written all over it
It would have to be part of the written contract too.


That’s right, screw the man who was good enough to have faith in you and give you a job. Smash his kit up then take him to court over your mistake.

when the Spiggat bairing in gear box went and chewed up the crank Shaft so engine needs taking apart to fix so decided to have it reconditioned while it's in bits

Is it not just a brass bush or bearing in end of crank its knackered?
