Just 2 things on my list - Tear resistant crotch, I seem to spend 90% of my time lunging around, doing the splits and squatting.

Secondly, reinforced patches on the back of the ankle. This is a spot that regularly gets tipped to shreds on chainsaw trousers when you have a chainsaw hanging off the back of your harness.

Put me down for a pair though, can't wait!

Full length side zips so getting them on is a piece of cake, you just have to take your jacket off for a moment to get the braces on. Full length zips can of course cause issues though. They're designed for mountain/aerial rescue workers so sit better with a harness on than probably anything else.

More breathable than the deluge trousers so in theory they're marginally cooler and more comfortable over cutting trousers. In theory...

Any idea of the cost? They look very expensive!

I've never got on with waterproof trousers, they hold in the heat, no manoeuvrability and having another waste band when in a harness is a pain.

I wear bib n brace type waterproofs but never with cutting trousers, it's just brutal.

I've been wearing a Swazi smock for 10 years now, it comes over my back side and down just above my knees and has a tie for the waist and a nice hood with a stiff brim.

The only bit that gets wet is the bottom of my legs. Chainsaw trousers are pretty good in the rain, when it gets monsoon, nothing helps by that time it's just get the job done and have dry clothes in the truck.

So my 2p, is make a longer jacket out of moleskin over goretex and have top pockets that an iPhone and wallet can fit in and forget the trousers.

I bought the Swazi trousers, they are made from the same material, but are trousers and infuriate me, worn them twice in 10 years.:laugh1:

I would like to see a bib and brace offered by someone tree work related. No drip down your waist then! But to answer the original question. Elasticated waist, a zip at least to just below the knee, some way of getting to trouser pockets, good reinforcement in key areas. As a tall skinny guy, I would like to see them cut in a variety of lengths for all waist sizes.
