Was out pricing after tea tonight, ime in a half acre woodland area at the bottom of a big manicured garden, trees very close and wants windblown firs dismantled some have tops torn out and hanging, some just leaning on others.Ime thinking 3 days work at least here.

They want trunk and topwood saved for logs, but what to do with the brash,i suggest bonfire but i cant see where to have one safely, cant get a chipper within 200 yards of it,ime trying to get the old brain cells working when the lady says in all seriousness "why dont you use that" and points to a small metal dustbin size incinerator in the edge of the wood that has half burnt bank statements stuck around its base. That lightened up the journey home for me.

Tinitis, don't you just love it, not. Had an ear test at the hospital a couple of weeks ago and its the high frequency I am having problems hearing, so now have an appointment on Thursday for an MRI scan, could just be damaged nerve endings or hereditry she says. So we will see.

I've suffered this for years now, worse in left ear, but still manage to pass NR PTS medical.

Chap from Stihl pointed out to me it could be related to my glasses not allowing a good seal to my ear muffs over the years., I always wore earmuffs whether sawing, strimming or tractor driving.

It's far far worse when stress or bored.

My GPs ( never see the same one twice and never more that need) have just said to live with it so I would be really interested to hear how you get on.

BTW you say high frequency loss, this comes with age which is why youths get distracted by the "mosquito" device and older folk don't ; checking with an online tone generator my tinnitus is around 8kHz but I still hear up to 11kHz

I will let you know how it goes on Thursday, they say it takes about an hour, but I don't if you get the result that day.

I was talking to one of the chaps down the man shed the other day (who also has it) and he was saying one of his brother in law had an operation that sorted it out.

Today just talking to a chap who comes here deer stalking and he has it in one ear, he has not had a scan, but the specialist told him that there are two pieces in the ear which are touching, causing vibration or hiss, and that an operation may solve the problem but could also make it worse, so he has just left it.
