Smoke filled betting shops and stale beer when the pub opened first thing in the morning.

The good old days!

Can you remember the smell of soot as you climbed up and down the chimneys mate?

Not quite childhood more teenage years- Castrol R

:thumbup1: Second that! Always love the first smell of fresh cut grass of the year too.

Them 'vinegar leaf' things you used to smell by rivers near the woods. Reminds me of when my grandad used to pick us up on a sunday morning with his collie for a run in the woods. Rope swings, conkers etc. Let us do all the stuff your parents were scared of seeing you do. Rope swing over a gorge, climbing trees for the best conkers etc.

My nan used to own a bakery and on a weekend we would go down and pick up a freshly baked apple pie.....Now that smell even now takes me back to being a kid!

Getting up on Monday morning for school and smelling the clothes being boiled in the copper

Oh that smell of washing on a monday:thumbup: Hay, creosote and the smell of an oil dressed landing net I opened on Christmas morning. Coming downstairs at 6am in the winter: my Dad had lit the fire, made a cup of tea and left a few Morning Coffee biscuits while he went to feed the stock.

Shotgun cartridges, spent fireworks...and the best of all; food scraps mixed with mash and some hot water for the chickens.
