Stolen night of Thursday 22nd May

Had all my power tools stolen for second time in a year. This time they cam through the roof.

Anyone have any ideas how to stop them coming through the roof?

In One building we rented the same thing happened. The roof was large concrete roof sheets, they simply smashed the sheet. The landlord overclad the whole roof with profiled tin, they came back a second time but only managed to bent a corner of the tin to find a second layer of roof before giving up. Another place had sheets of plywood covering the whole roof, onto which were laid tiles.

 

As security improves the robbers have realised the roof can be the last easy way in.

 

As has been said before, security needs to be layered, locked gates, motion sensors in the yard, cctv, alarms, locks and chains, rooms and containers within buildings - all locked, gear marked, geese. Think like a robber.

Out of interest, what has been the response from the Police?

 

Was the kit marked?

 

Any cctv images or other intelligence?

Very sorry to hear, hearts are going out to you but it wont help sort out problems this will make for you and your business right now. We were discussing roof security recently, razor wire / metal spikes under the roof? secure cages within the building?(does such a thing actually exsist?)

Gutted for you, in regards to beefing up a roof what about the concrete reinforcing re-bar mesh?

Bolted on the rafters/joists with tin roof on top.
