This winter i cut down blackthorn hawthorn and cleaned ivy off the oak trees at the local school then the ditch was cleaned out which for most of the year is a dry ditch. It runs alongside the road leading to the school. I was there yesterday to fell anouther tree and the head told me at a meeting the HSE has told the school they must put a fence up along the legth of the ditch. Madness it is a different world now to the one i grew up in we used to play in field and ditches old barns stubble fights ect ect. This also reminds me of the story of the yew hedge around a playground which had to be cut down in case children eat any of it.:001_smile:

You're so right. Just as well H&S didn't know about you cutting thorny or poisonous plants: just think of the size of the RA . It's a mad, mad, mad, mad - and sad - world.

it'll get to the point where we'll have to fill in a RA for filling in the RA due to the possibility of getting a paper cut:sneaky2:

In a shop today overheard the owner telling someone he had to put his staf on a lifting course and the recommendations on lifting so you keep infuries to a minimum was to not lift any over 20kg and to lift no more than 20kg in any one hour:scared1:

He said there is no way he could do that since he would have to pack his business in!

Now he must have got it wrong or been exaggerating but there is no way I'm gonna look into it to find out.:sneaky2:
