i only ever where type a trousers as i hate wearing all-round protection as i think they are just to hot. I never cut behind my self when im up a tree so why should i where alround .

I've only ever owned one pair of C's, they're far to warm even in winter. I suffer badly from heat exhaustion simply because I work like billy ho because it's my time and my money

type A,s for me. as you shouldnt be using a saw @ the back off your legs should you now !!! & i dont employe enough folk to need a r/a

type A's,if i had to wear c's as i have in the past it would not take long to acclimatise to them but i recon but it would be nasty!

All round chainsaw protective trousers follow the same line of thinking as the protective jackets.

 

Designed by and approved by those not involved in the industry.IMHO.

 

I watched a new climber the other day sporting a pair of dashing chainsaw proof overalls (they exisit here in Scandinavia) and trying not to imagine what that person will smell like at the end of a hot weeks weather.

Well thats sealed it for me, i'm off to buy a pair of class a's, ive been sweating my balls off in class c's cos I thought I had to! And now the suns poking its head out its making it worse. I'll just keep these for frosty days!

you should do R/A but you may only need to do it verbally not on paper

within my company we have discussed type c over type a and decided that it is down to the climber at the end of the day and as long as the R/A supports wearing type a trousers then it will be deemed acceptable , however when looking for type a trousers we came accros the sip fredom 2 trousers , they are light , flexible , hard wearing and have protection all round on the lower leg , i stronly reccomend that anyone thinking about climbing in type A's to try the sip freedom 2's
