No worries and I completely agree with you, although only a young un at 25 I have had a full firearms certificate since the age of 18 and have always been very serious about shooting and the dangers. I have seen so many unsafe people using firearms and shot guns, ive even completely refused to associate my self with a select few I found them to be that un safe

That's a shame, does that also count timber out. When I was in the Army we made buildings out of timber and hessian to practice live compound clearance. Entry and exit damage still may be worth a look.

Take your largest caliber which you re going to shoot and set up a row of breeze/cinder blocks, they break nicely. Or get like a Steel sheet and shoot like a .22 or a .17hmr and show the dent to a camera linked up to a screen.

Some good suggestions Dean, one interesting thing I read a while back: the average Deer rifle puts a huge spin on the bullet thanks to the rifling, an amazing 180,000 RPM.

Are they paying to attend? If so, good show, how did you get that many people to part with their cash?

 

Is is a BASC CPD type of event or a part of another event (country show or something?)

Dean, years ago when i did a bit of security, i attended a combat course which included knives/ bladed weapons. To demonstrate the differences in the types of blade, the instructors used different body vests. It was interesting to learn that whilst a vest might stop the penetration of a "bowie knife", a sharpened screwdriver could go straight through it. Perhaps there is something similar you could do with guns. Hope you get the gist of what i am trying to say.

Some good ideas.

If you have a pond handy, or can set one up, I'd do a demo of shot ricocheting at narrow angles.

That's an eye-opener for some.

 

You could also shoot yourself a couple of times then go and do a full shift down the pit to show how hard Yorkshiremen are.
