How do you keep yourself fueled?

Little and often. eg every 2 hours. don't stuff yourself as it will just go to your hips and slow you down, and eat proper carbs eg bread, rolls and only eat fresh bread from a bakers, not processed. but leave out the butter and mayonnaise so eat meat and salad. And don't eat pastry every day as it's almost pure fat. but do treat yourself occasionally, my fav is a breakfast roll with egg bacon and mushrooms, brown and mustard salt and pepper, in a baguette, and that will last me all day. little and often.

ANYTHING ELSE? 8-)

Eat lots and often. My typical day's food:

0630 - 500g soya yoghurt

0930 - 200-250g muesli (best you can get is Anne's muesli from the Daily Bread Coop in Northampton - not full of sugar), 1/2 litre soya milk, packet of ready salted Walkers and a piece of fruit. Several cups of tea and some fruit juice.

1215 - 4-6 slices of bread in form of sandwiches, more fruit, more crisps, more tea, more juice.

1530 - 2 sandwiches, more tea, more juice.

1730 - left over dinner from night before (homemade brinjal sag aloo tonight).

2000-2100 - dinner, followed by ice cream sometimes with a beer and sometimes a dram of single malt last thing.

It's my wife that makes most of my food, and for that I'm very grateful. I always eat at least 5000 kcal a day, and I'm bloody expensive to feed. Without it I lose weight very quickly though. 6ft 8" and a lean 100kg is never cheap!

Thanks for the reply's

Looks like I am doing some things right.

Home made muesli just oats wheatgerm and dried fruit no extra sugar. Home made bread and 50% wholewheat flour. But looks like many of you eat quite a bit more protein. Better try making some hummus, is it easy? Sounds like eating every few hours is the norm so wont worry about that.

Big bowl of porridge, followed by toasted doorsteps of white bread with lumps of butter and spread with honey.

10am white bread rolls, plain. Salt crisps, unripe banana

Lunch: white bread rolls, salt crisps another banana

3pm salt crisps, banana (now ripe)

Supper: sausage chips beans (tonight) banana and Evap milk

Most work days the daytime fodder remains very similar, evening meals vary in excitement.

Been a bit hectic lately and eating so much. This morning have what my wife calls a trough of muesli at 6.30 by 9.00 I have got the shakes and have to stuff my face again. I want to keep it healthy but it would be nice to last more than 2-3 hours before needing another feed. What do you guys find works for high octane fuel

if your only lasting that long before going weak (I get this too) then I suggest you get it checked over if its a regular occurence.

I get this occasionaly but I have to be really cutting corners diet wise to suffer regular
