Out of interest Ty, what's the most common method of payment for you lads over there?

 

Arbtech, the calipers one is golden. I've mentioned it a couple of times but I can't remember who I heard it from (on here).

Agree hedge height with customer.

Make a cut into the hedge and double check with customer that it's the right height.

 

Get half way through the hedge "could you take it down another foot?

The worst one was a woman who tried to barter me down on price on completion of the job because I was more expensive than the opposition. This after shed spent 10 minutes slagging off said opposition.

That sounds exactly like my stepmother. In fact, it might have been her. I can't imagine she wouldn't have taken the opportunity to criticise the prices/choices/views of others, when my father had a tree taken down last year.

I went to look at a large mature oak tree and the women says, " well we have been here 5 years and it's doubled in size so it needs to come out" err doubt it love.

I've lived here for ten years and the council never maintain their trees and they have doubled in size and move in the wind and they drop acorns into my grandchildren!
