Log identification

Does it have a nice smell? I am no expert but it looks like Douglas, pine and cypress.

 

Willow can smell a bit like wee wee or p++s to you and me.

Difficult to say what that is. If its softwood the growth rings will be large and thick ie a 4in log may only have been growing a few years. I can tell you what I dont think it is. Its not beech, ash or oak. I dont think its birch, lime, cherry, hawthorn one bit looks like it could be sycamore. Sorry cant be more help we sell hardwood but dont think I have ever had any of that here.

Second picture down ( with finger and thumb) looks like dry resin on the cut face indicating some conifer type ./ Other logs in the background could be syc ? A mixture but probably still green .

That aint hardwood; never seen bark like that on any hardwood tbh. Looks thick and spongey and not dry either. More like DF but bark looks quite thick...

Pale, fibrous bark, rings look like willow to me.

At a guess- The first pic...walnut?

From what i can see, i'd say it certainly could be willow.
