They were away (holiday home) and yes Jon the winch is a peach, my brother fitted a radio remote so I direct the pull from under the tree whilst felling, safer and saves a lot of arm waving!

Can anyone tell me how to work my rear wiper the right way.

 

I know it sounds strange, it's the button that is bugging me. I push it once and the wiper works three times. I push it again and it's once, then the wiper goes off twice, I push the button again an dit goes off three times.

 

It's a disco 1990. Annoying when I only want it to clear the back once and it carries on down the road.

I've just pulled the gearbox out of my disco as well as the clutch and flywheel. Will change the rear oil seal tomorrow and get it all back together. Got a silicone hose kit to put on too and plan to take the bumpers off and spray them Matt black.

How did you get a h14 to be remote controle with it all beimg macanical, being able to control the winch from a distance is the only thing I miss about my old electric winch and if there is an easy way of converting a h14 ill be most interested.

My winch is driven hydraulicly from a pump attached to the gearbox. I know some are direct through shafts to the winch.

I can see that one like that would be difficult to operate remotely, but when you are talking about hydraulics it"s fairly routine (for my brother!)

He replace the "junction box" in the left side wing, and put a receiver and other gubbins in the cab, He fits autosteer systems to tractors so fairly early on in the process he left me behind.

ah thats a problem as mine is shaft driven which will give me 5 speed but means you have to be in the cab to work it.

Sorry to move off the winch subject but I have to tell someone ..... Wifes 1994 Defender 90 straight through MOT Saturday mornin... My 1992 110 Pick up straight through MOT Monday mornin !! Is this any kind of record as it feels quite strange ???

Altered the rear door and pillars of my disco. Just waiting for a wiring kit to arrive and I can hear my music! Doesn't interfere with the dickie seats either which was my main aim. Felted the whole door card to match it all together. One big piece, bit of swearing and some carpet glue!
