The fact that the UK had enough Guts and Brains to not get suckered into giving up the Pound is the biggest reason why The UK will fare much better than all other nations that were willing to sell them selfs off for a Union not base on any sound monetary policy.

I do not believe it will lower the price of Kit and anyone or country holding Euro debt like Germany better hold on tight. If Germany had it bad exchanging 3 WG Marks for every EGM once upon a time continuing to shore up and watch the Euro crash and burn will be more than Germany and to a lesser extent France bargined for.

There's an up side to all the woe in Europe and the US. All my kit is cheap as chips these days as the kiwi dollar is almost level pegging with the green back and about half of the pound. Gone are the days when it stood at a third of the dollar and less than a quarter of the pound. Personally; I'm glad that the UK kept the pound and I think it will hold it in good stead long term. I wish we'd never got wrapped up with Brussels and I think it's done more harm than good but then I've been out of it all for 13 years and am somewhat isolated from the world's financial troubles..
