This saw seems to be only firing for a second then cutting out. Had it working fine recently then its gone back to doing this. Had a recent carb kit. Could something be stucking in carb? Some other issue? Any clues anyone?

Check the wire, and its connection from the electronic unit to the coil, if its lose on the coil terminal it will lose its spark, as for the breather, it will stop once fully impregnated with 2t oil and some saw dust, common on these breathers hence the later white ones used today.

Yes Mr Stubby, part of my drive for the 21 Century. As i feel no need for Whatsapp, facebook or toilet roll as the focus in my life, the gf has taken to jigsaws over Myspace and constant blather on mobiles.  I feel i am contributing to genuine real world activitiez. K

I had a Mecano crane when I was a nipper ( 300 years ago ) , my Dad built it for me . Had those little spanners that came with the kit .

Got ideas fr models of military vehicles, shall post once paint hard dry. K

seems fine, but i've literally done about 7 cuts with it so far. sure was better than before

That's an interesting way to go about modding that exhaust. I just open the port a bit more on a 261.

On a 241, I like to defeat the stratos entirely.
