Hows the log sales going now

We're strangely busy for the time of year, not far off capacity. I thought it was because we put our prices up next week but someone we supply is very busy to.

Firewood & woodfuel pellets sales have increased this year, helped my Grown in Britain, Wood Sure Accreditations, have also been accredited under the HETAS Ready 2 Burn scheme, which is seeing more sales to London homeowners.

Hows the log sales going everyone?

 

I have been fully booked up for the last month, averaging 10 bags a week, and it doesn't seem to be letting up into December either. Loving the cool and dry weather

Gone manic, pretty much fully booked for next week and a half on my log days. Might need to turn new customers away

All I see is the processor, I've had enough :).

 

It's been the busiest month we've had and everyone I speak to is the same. Must have sold 3/400 cube this month.

 

We're getting more orders than we can dry and just used up the last of our stockpile. I'm deciding between force drying at a loss to keep people happy or turning them down...

Had 16 out last week and will have another 10 out before the start of next week by the looks of it. This snow isn’t helping though, Nissan cabstars are useless in anything remotely slippy, barely made it out the yard today [emoji23]

Really good. Did around 30 cube last week which by far our most ever. At current rate will be sold out of our smaller logs before Christmas

 

gdh how many of you are there? Just the logistics of selling 300/400 cube in a month makes my head spin let alone the work involved cutting and storing it all

Haha, it's pretty stressful this month, just came in to 18 answer phone messages. I do the cutting with someone else a few days a week and my dad does the deliveries. That's between farm work.

 

We'll do around 2000cube this year so it has been double what we usually sell and we can't keep it up but it's not as much as it sounds - about a third is wholesale and the rest ranges from 1.8 to 5 cubic meter loads which are just tipped loose.

Logs are a bit of a sideline to us. If I sell enough to pay my yard rent I'm happy. It usually involves delivering logs on what was going to be my day off!. We've got lots of seasoned stuff...didn't sell half what we usually do last year. This year it's moving ok, we've got enough room to store the green stuff and we've got enough seasoned to see us through the winter. Just need a way to shift our softwood and make more room!

Things have been average lately, we have ups and downs one week we’ll be flat out doing 25-30 cube next week we only do 10.  Gdh you must be some busy boys doing that sort of quantity
