Surge in sales of used double cabs after Xmas?

Either way that’s Labour kicking the shit out of a bouyant sector of the automotive industry . Double cab pick up is not the traditional type of vehicle a typical labour voter would drive, hence here we are, nearly every farmer I know and tree guy is running one around here. The lunacy of it is that any potential money earned will wither away in a  couple of fiscal years as people change vehicles to get around it. King cab wildtrack I guess won’t be that far away.
When it comes to Labour people really forgot how bad they were last time or were too young to remember.

Spoke to my accountant today and he said that as a sole trader the company car thing doesn't apply....

Going forwards if I swap my 4x4 dc pickup in for another, I cannot reclaim the vat nor 100% of the purchase only a measly 6% or so.... (after april)

So it would seem if you wanted to change you need to do before April so can allow the 100% through your books. After April they're not worth diddly.... and not something you would buy again.

If you don't change your motor you can continue as you are especially if you have already reclaimed the vat and allowed all your capital allowances against it....

For sole traders it maybe different. If you run a LTD and are a director you will be paying BIK on a new double cab and there is a transitional amount for ones you already own.

There was a fairly old Unimog, done up and fitted with a Passat engine on tree facebook the other day. If you wanted something with the comfort of a Land Rover but less convenient to get into.

I started a thread somewhere about irritating ads.

Saying ”regrettably” is one of those.

You'll be over the bloody moon to see the last of that chicken shed off your front lawn and we all know it.
