Incredibly this man still has influence on the current labour leadership. The country is still paying the price for the last labour government to this day.

Honestly I think the immigrants from the Baltic's have done wonders for the UK economy. The myth that they will work for lower wages is just that, they want the most money for their time with exception that they will work harder than the average Brit in order to get it.

There’s two sides to that argument Mike. Companies were only too happy to take ready made trained workers rather than train up apprentices etc. I saw that with my own eyes with a welding fabrication firm we used to do vessel mobilisations and demobs. Prior to the open door police the teams  were made up of UK guys, once the gates opened the make up of the teams gradually reduced to a UK charge hand/foreman and a load of Eastern European guys all through an agency on zero hour contracts. That firm literally stopped training lads until after Brexit . We now see the teams going back to a 50/50 mix and a few apprenticeship guys in the mix. I do agree that in general they have a great work ethic but I guess the ones who had the gumption to make the move are gonna be in general the more talented driven types. I use Polish and Baltic states tradesmen up here often and sell quite a bit of milled stuff to a few of them. Generally speaking I’d say they are far more hands on savvy than the equivalent brit of the same age.
Im gonna be honest and say Mike if they have the same values, culture and respect for family, women and kids etc it goes a long way in regards integrating too, some might call that racist but I don’t really give a shit.
