Was a good one here today, lovely Irish lady pulled out all the stops.

Had a wicker basket delivered to the gardener's shed. Anyone had prunes in blankets before? They're lovely!

Tea in the land of the French, even if branded English Breakfast tea is served at a homeopathic strength.

I bring a daily thermos as clients just cannot be relied on or trusted to provide and the climber is moody without several cups of instant.

To remind the forgetfull, I'll quip "what time is coffee served in this establishment?" or "Your coffee smells like an expensive brand" in the absence of any coffee perfume.

Repeat clients often remember my requirements and make a small show of it.

One weird thing, is the Brits who steal the sugar on the ferries rather than buy any then serve coffee with a bowl of DFDS or Brittany ferries sachets.

Yes we’ve all had our fair share of undrinkable or inedible.

But on the other side of the coin i think the best I ever had was years ago when working for a Lady long since dead,  who sent her liveried butler out over the manicured lawns to take our drinks order, and he came back out carrying it on a large silver tray.
I recently had to drive past that neck of the woods and everything’s much the same.

Nice one today, old family friend, acceptable cup of coffee, 2 hot sausage rolls and he put a new plug on my extension lead,  gave me a spare plug and tested it 😆 👍

One of my customers we have worked for a few times now really is amazing. The last couple of times we have been to him he has served good coffee with bacon and egg baps, wait for it, TWO baps per team member. Total star. Oh yes, he also pays up the same day.

I don’t like massive amounts of food being dumped on us.

I feel like I’m rude if I don’t eat it, and very often I’m not hungry on a hard day.

Bacon sarnies? Yes ok, just let us know when we turn up so I don’t eat my own sandwiches unknowingly.

Bacon sarnies, rare treat, I only have one regular British couple who serve me these and only when Mrs Lee is not working, then it's fried egg.

Haven’t been offered them in years, more’s the pity.

Got some strong espresso and biscuits today, which is perfect, but, as you know, customs (and customers) are very different here
