Truck insurance help needed

Looking for any help / guidance with getting a good truck insurance quote/company.

 

Just been quoted £2300 for the year (full comp / break down). For a 2017 Toyota Hilux (tipper body). 8 years no claims, no points and convictions.

 

Surely this can’t be right? Or, is this the going rate?

My ‘Go Compare’ quotes this year were ridiculous, like £8k ridiculous.

 

Insured with Direct Line for a few hundred.

Ring NFU for anything commercial or agricultural.

 

Lost nothing and they won't spam you will all these emails which always mysteriously start when you shop around on comparison sites.

Try Business Choice Direct if you haven't already. I've always used them for my van

+1 for NFU, I’ve got a “fleet” policy for my a Hilux and a Vito van (wife’s), and that’s about £800 a year. Plus their local office is 10 mins away, and they’re very helpful! You could probably find cheaper online, but having someone on hand to speak to is worth more than a few ££ IMO

We looked at Go Compare for the wife's car the other day, it seemed like a massive list of companies you've never heard of and so don't trust.

 

My vans on Aviva, has gone up from last year but not daft, think several of the bigger companies make a point of not being on GC.

Try LV for anything domestic, always been pretty reasonable including business use and every family member just incase for about £389 fully comp.

I recently got an e-mail from Hastings, subject line, "Your automatic renewal."
"You fuxking what." I thought. I always cancel that straight away.

Last year was £292. Opened the e-mail, expecting it to be £1100 or something stupid. It was £310! An increase of only half inflation, a real world reduction. Checked gocompare and the cheapest was £4something. I let it renew. Very weird.
