Telehandler question

I'm looking for a telehandler for yard and smallholding use . What size would I need for loading lorries with chip . If I get one it might as well be big enough for this .

ours is 7m,  personally I wouldn't go any smaller for loading chip into a walking floor

Depends how big the lorry you're loading is and how often but our Kramer 750t (4m) is fine for tipping bulk firewood into a 40cube lorry.

If it's bulk attics 6m would be minimum I'd be happy with (we have 7m) unless you get a toe tip bucket

4m is pretty much tractor loader territory.

 

Telehandlers are a bit of a one trick pony for farm work tho, as they don't have a PTO or 3 point so unless it's pallet forks and loading it won't get used.

 It's uncommon but I've seen a few with both I suspect most don't bother as they have a range of machines so don't need to!

The kramers actually 4.6m I think but unless you're always loading lorries I don't see why you would want an extra long reach machine. They're (generally) less stable with a bigger turning circle and, as above, limited in the jobs they're suitable for.

 

It's going to be a balance between the biggest that's practical on a small holding and the smallest that will load a lorry. I think bulkers are usually between 4 and 4.5m high?

I am with john on this, the bigger the better. Ours is 6mts and only just manages to tip in the middle of a high cube walking floor.Its not just about tipping over the side, the clock is ticking for the driver and they need to be evenly loaded.

Correct and for me it's about filling the other side and paying it down and all sorts.... 6m only just works but more is better
