Where to buy 1inch spacers / firring strips

I just got a panther mill and have already milled a few boards. I really need to sort my storage area out. I need to buy a load of the spacers for drying my slabs. Where is the best place to get a wholesale amount of the 1inch sticks? my fencing supplier doesn't stock any. I'm based in Cheltenham

Cheers

I spent two years trying to get stickers for my milled boards. (I tried a number of different things, such as cutting up pallets and using the boards, but that was a lot of hassle) I got help from a friend who ran me off about 100 last year, they soon went. I have a local mill to me, I asked them if they could sell me some bulk lots. They wanted £1.40 per metre for stickers.

I decided in the end to make some 1inch pine boards with my chainsaw mill and then cut 1" strips with a skill saw. Bit of work. With a table saw, life would be even better. Might invest in a small one soon.

But being able to make your own stickers makes everything worth while. I now just make my own and sticker away. But buying a bandsaw mill would certainly be the most efficient option. 👍

I like most of the guys who mill make my own for decent timber but I also often help myself ( with approval)  to a skip that’s full of them at my local builders/timber merchant. They get them in with the treated stuff and just bin them as they go.

I was lucky to get a heap of 1inch pine shelving come out of a doctors just in the skip ran that through the table saw but ran out of that now so when I am milling Cedar I will cut a few inch boards and leave them dry they work out ok but its bonkers how many stickers I have cut ,if I came across some recycled plastic at an inch thick nice and cheap I would be tempted to make some out of that but would need to be cheap ,there may even be a company somewhere that has something like 1x1 plastic off cuts now that would be cool
