2-5 per day, usually convert perhaps 70%. Last few months I feel like we're being undercut by "small companies" or gardeners with saws. Could be wrong, just trying to see what the markets doing elsewhere

If your quoting between 2-5 jobs a day and getting 70% of them your doing pretty good. That’s 7 - 17 jobs won a week. Are you running several teams? You’ve obviously got someone spending a lot of time quoting and doing something right 👍
I’ve found individual enquires have dropped off and so not so busy but have picked up some bigger jobs. Looking for a bit of time off this time of year anyway🤔

As more and more domestic tree companies realise the Covid gravy train is over, they're going to bid jobs just to win them and 'keep the boys busy'.

Going to see a lot of tree firms go bust or need to downsize fairly soon. Just hope that they do it quickly as the longer it goes on, the cheaper the rates go for everyone.

Companies who have added multiple gangs to keep up with their high demand from last 2 years are going to be in big trouble I fear

I keep having people get back to me saying they have found creeper quotes at the moment. Thing is I’m pricing relatively low compared to when we are flat out and to be honest if someone can get a £900 job done by someone else for £500 then their not going to think twice. We are busy enough this month and I’m booking in work for August and once September come around we are flat out on the commercial work so I’m just going to enjoy the down time for now I think.

Could be right.

We will see I guess.

I was here in France for the financial crisis of 2008/9.

It was no picnic.

I don’t see many firms going bankrupt, most just sell off their equipment, pay off their loans, get a job in the pub to tide them over, get caught spit roasting the pub landlady with a mate in the car park on a cocaine bender, divorce the wife who turns the kids against him, then dies choking on his own vomit in a single mens refuge.

A tale as old as time.

Then rides off into the sunset as the credits roll 🙂

He’s dead Stubs, no happy ending.

An ignominious end to a life that started so well but a series of poor choices (he bought a Forst) led to a sordid death in a shabby hostel.

Happily the wife is a bit of a sort and found love with a Warrington bus driver.

Life finds a way.
