Has anyone tried to remove a Conifer tree stump (2ft diameter) with an Avant ripper? I assume digging round the lateral roots would be a start?

Also leaving the trunk high as a counter lever etc. I also have an avant winch which I could use.

This would be the first opportunity for me to use this method as I can get my machine on site. Normally I would stump grind.

Any real videos would be great.

When I’ve seen stumps pulled by a digger people are alway scratching there heads to decide what to do with the bloody thing now it rolled round the garden! You don’t get that with grinding 🤔

You won’t do it. Leaving the stump high will be no help.

With a three ton digger you can curl the  ripper right under, isolate rap roots and you have the weight to pull back against. The avant will just spin it’s wheels.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I did wonder that and not wanting to damage the machine etc. Have seen a few avant videos, none looked amazing. I have a ripper attachment which I have used for minor groundwork's which is good, nothing heavy though.

I may then hire the stump grinder attachment to see what its like. I have heard mixed reports however not seen it in action for real.

A guy I know has the stump grinder attachment for his Avant. Takes some getting used to but he takes it out more than his Rayco now.

I have not heard any good reports about it.
