Does anyone know how durable Laylandi timber is buried in the ground?
Either just in soil or concreted in as a post?
The posts would in time by kept out of the weather - a customer wants to keep the poles to use for a shed corner posts, I wasn’t sure, so said I would ask for them.

cheers all.

Your sometimes lucky to get much more out of treated fence posts 🤔

10 years max and that is optimistic but no worse than any untreated wood.

cheers guys, it would seem much as I thought. Maybe longer than 10 years if kept out of the weather inside the barn and make sure the water can’t pool around them at ground level.

The fence around my property is of leylandii and maccie posts. The maccie are still good after 5 years, some of the leylandii are getting soft. Doubt it'll make the 10 year mark. All untreated and in fairly wet ground.

Upside is they cost me next to nothing and the hedge will be up in another year or two.
