Heated saw handles pros and cons?

It's something I regret not getting on my 261. When I picked it up years back the cost was a priority over the handles sadly! Now the cost of doing it means it's kind of pointless! 

 

I've been getting by with the pfanner ice grip gloves so far. Warm hands throughout the day!

For the extra £40 i think its a no brainer. I just wish they'd bring em out on a topper saw

I always go for the 560xpg in this weather, wish my other saws had heated handles

There were a few companies that imported them from Europe in the early 2000s. They don't do it anymore or I'd have one.

As a point of caution, some husky saws come with a heated carb option too. Easy to cook a saw with that so I have always disconnected it (apart from the time I removed the wrong wire & killed the saw on a nice warm summers day, when I had accidentally knocked the switch on !)

I think there were some Partner saws which diverted the exhaust through the handles but it's all electric now

Well it never gets really cold in sunny Surrey but I do switch the heaters on when my gloves get wet from dragging brash, you can switch it off as soon as your fingers are warm again, it doesn't take long ringing a few chogs.

Where is this to unclip? Never done this on my 550xpg.... Cheers

Only done it on older 3 series saws sorry.
