Sounds dirt cheap to me going by the photo. Check that they have insurance.

I don’t think that’s dirt cheap at all. It’s not a massive tree, easy drop zone. The right team will easily deal with that in a day or less

If you think they are reputable bite their hand off at 750.
Check if that’s plus VAT.

It’s certainly a cheap price. Get a couple more quotes and average them out. If 750 is still way cheaper have a second think about it. Cheaper isn’t always better.

Odd for  a single grown  tree to have such a  thin diameter   trunk and narrow butt. Almost looks narrower at the bottom 😏

Possibly had a lot of friends before the houses were built?

Did a tree on Sunday in a road called The Spinney, area TPO in place to protect the remaining trees in between the houses.

I agree. I've done trees like that for less than 750, though you'd certainly pay that much in London or other expensive towns. As for selling the trunk, I'd take some photos of it on the ground and measurements and then try contacting any small local sawmills or furniture makers working in English hardwoods. It looks like there might be some interesting burr on the trunk. Could be worth a bit more than firewood.
