I'm in the market for a medium sized saw. I'm looking at the 560 or 562. Something that will take a 20 inch bar, possibly 24. I can see that they are pretty similar saws but they have a different pitch chain.

Any views welcomed. Thanks.

Basically same saw. Different chains that’s about it now the 560 had been updated.
20inch bar is max. Any more and you want the 572. Nice enough saw.

As lux says same capacity same power output . Different running gear . Some differences in the plastics ( taller air box cover etc )  but all interchangeable .  Here is my 560 with 562 plastics .DSCF0023.thumb.JPG.9ef2be401685a711c42e845bc35bfdec.JPGDSCF0026.thumb.JPG.3d25a03885a01bd8229b453957babb16.JPG

Did a head to head here with a mate. Regardless of the book numbers my mates 562 was better

Perhaps it cuts better with 3/8ths then ?

I’m I right in understanding the 562 has a beefier crank? And it seems the auto tune issues that were causing scored pistons have been addressed.
I’ve had both 560’s and now a 562 which definitely seems more aggressive.

They are the same saw but that the 562 has the bigger bar pad and runs 3/8 chain, the latest 560 now also has the high top cover, and the filter from the mk11 550, there is no difference in power, same firmware, cylinder etc, the crank is only different due to small additional length on the drive side, same big end bearing, main bearings and con rod, bigger oil pump, max 20" bar no matter what anybody says, upgrade kits for the high top cover, filter elbow and filter are now available.
