Covid 19 inconsistencies

It made me laugh this morning, the Minister of BS was talking about this extra £13/week on top of their other benefiits for those people who have to quarantine on return to the country.

Nick Ferrari had to remind him that working people would also be quarantined on £13/day, Minister BS didn't have an answer.

Eggs has made a good point about big offices in cities etc.

I’m in a titchy village in rural Kent, but it’s a quick journey to the mighty Ashford, where the fast train into that London takes 36 minutes.

Season ticket is £7k.

Plenty of my mates work there.

They were furloughed initially, but have been back at work remotely for months.

No drop in productivity, companies are happy, they are happy.

It won’t stay like that, I’m sure, but it won’t go back to ‘normal’.

Bound to effect Sally’s Sandwich Shop, after work bars etc.

There’s going to be a lot of businesses reducing their office space requirements imo. Many firms have seen the benefits of having their staff work from home and will continue in that vein (hands have been forced to make it happen and guess what?! - everything has carried on pretty much as normal!).

It’s going to be hard times for commercial landlords I reckon.

Probably won't need the space but will be in contract to pay for it?

Man, Put a little more tobacco in your breakfast joint will ya!

Tobacco now there’s a global killer that no one seems too fussed about. WHO figures state 8million deaths annually worldwide of which 1.2 million are a result of passive smoking ?.

I have just been trawling the web asking what the rules are in the UK about living with my wife who has been told to isolate because she spent the hour in Amsterdam, but shows absolutely no symptoms of covid.  The are dozens of rules about living with someone actually with the disease but I cannot find any advice for my situation. Does anybody know the answer???

Get both of you tested at an nhs test centre for peace of mind and just get on with things as per normal.

Reading through the replies to this post it’s funny to see the die hard wear a mask it’s no big deal types now seeming to come to the conclusion that quite a few on here have always had that this whole virus is a massively overhyped total mess up. Billions wasted, mental health hammered and kids education damaged. I’ve now been tested 4 times for work reasons each one a negative, serco and the other companies are making millions out of the whole testing sham. I know one person within my work group whom has tested positive after hitting the bars in Aberdeen, he was totally symptom free and had no idea until the test result that he had it. The reaction to the whole thing is beyond stupidity, One of guys I work with his Mother is a senior consultant for the NHS specialising in cardiovascular problems and when I hear people of that standing say the reaction to it is out of all proportion and the side effects in regards other illnesses being neglected is far worse than the virus itself I’ll tend to believe them rather than the hysterical media. Her views on the nightingale hospitals are they are an utter waste of money. Does it exist of course it does just as normal cold or flu exists. I still don’t know anyone whom has died of it and asking around both teams on the project I’m on neither do any of the other 40 plus guys. The powers and mandate this has given political leaders is frightening, the ability for a handful of individuals to make unaccountable decisions that are then enforced with ever increasing police powers is something we have never experienced to this extent in the UK. I for one and many of the people I work with have not been comfortable with this from day one. Thankfully a few more Of the general public seem to be seeing through this hysteria. The phrase new normal used in the context of accepting the controls imposed upon us in the name of public health etc etc is one of the most disgusting and pathetic things I’ve ever heard.

See that's the problem with this virus , its symptoms and effects can vary  so much from person to person . The guy who has it but doesn't know he has it because he is not ill can give it to someone else who might die and and anything in between .  You say you don't know any one who has died from it . Are you suggesting no one has ?
