I’ve been cutting trees down in the UK for 20 years and have only had one job where I absolutely needed a bigger-than-36’’ bar (which is the only reason other than milling that anyone would need an 880).
Big heavy cumbersome things - but when you need one there’s not many other options!

I looked at an 088 shortly after I had my second hernia operation. I lifted it 2" off the ground and then walked (limped) slowly away from it.?

I have seen it used in the past . A double ended with two 3120s actually . I think there is very little in it power and torque wise .

Mine was certainly good. Didn't really notice a difference between the two, though never compared with some bar/ timber combo. The 3120 definatley have some grunt

Stihl were still doing the 880 in mainland Europe after they stopped selling them here. It might be an EU emissions law or whatever, but it was implemented earlier and more abruptly in the UK than anywhere else I'm aware of.  You might still be able to pick one up over the water.
