Just sat down in the living room and spotted a brace of partridge popping through the fence from next doors orchard. Made my day. Crap photo taken on my phone and enlarged. They were about 6 metres from the window.

2nd cut today, a week since the last.

Certainly makes you feel better about life.

I have a leatherjacket problem though.

Tips welcome!

Get the rooks in there Mark . They love 'em .

Took a conifer down for someone with artificial grass, chatted about this as a bit weird to rake sawdust on but they said it fixed the leatherjacket problem after the lawn treatment people failed with multiple attempts.

Horrible though, I'd have an enormous patio with beds and borders before I had a green carpet garden.
