I went to deliver a micro chipper north of Newark this morning, then spent the next 4 hours getting back to Nottingham pulling people up slopes only to find that there is no snow to speak of there or in Shepshed! (20 odd miles)

I've not set everything up online yet so I'm not sure. As soon as I do I'll add you mate. The thing that normally winds me up is she has an uncanny knack of picking the worst possible moment to ask me something really important, then can't understand why I can't answer!!! It's because I'm saving the world woman!!!!! ha ha!!

:lol::lol: that sounds sooo familiar!!! Its a piece of piss to set up online mate and its free!!!

We had a little flurry around lunch time today, nothing major though. We havnt had any major snow yet like most of the country.

Although the forcast for tonight and tommorow is very bad, schools have already announced there going to be closed. The shops are heaving with people panic buying, the landrovers got its MOT tommorrow but if its really bad then im going to keep hold of it.

We've got around 3ft of snow and more in places round here...

No work for us untill it all buggers off.

We stopped work on the 22nd December and all I have been doing since is emergency call-outs.

We've been at Inverness, Dingwall, Wick, Helmsdale, Lairg and everywhere inbetween cutting trees off rail infrastructure, but last night a Stobart Rail freight train de-railed in the next village so I fully expect we'll be called in to cut trees to free the carriages an the loco.

Other than that we're forecast snow up til the 17th, and no sign of it thawing out between

Not going to be the best month money-wise

set off this morning to do a small domestic job about 20 miles away. 3 ash to fell n a piece of garden to clear for an extension.

had about 2" round our yard, so i thought... it'll be ok

got to Bawtry where we were working and they've got 6" and still coming.

when we'd done the job ( 'bout half twelve) there was about 8" had to leave the chipper off the trailer to get up the slight hill out of the estate, but once we were secure and rolling it was a doddle.

Retford was snarled up so took to the back lanes, the LDV pikey bus, with nearly 2 ton of log n chip on, plus 1.5 ton of jensen and trailer coped brilliantly.

told the lads we'll have an UNPAID holiday tomorrow...:001_tt2::lol::001_tt2:

Just been down my track to see what the roads like (we have about 8" now)

When I got to the road at the bottom, I tried to stop and just slowly slid!!!:001_huh:

The road has not been gritted, I turned round and came back up the track, the Disco came up no bother at all!!!:thumbup1: Even though we have big fat road tyres that traction control is very, very good!!!!!!!!!!

I have the same problem with the landy it will go virtualy anywhere, but stopping it on the other hand.... Our drive is on a hill, every time I get home I have to go past the house to the bottom of the hill turn round in the yard and come back up to the house. I just cant stop on the way down!

All I did today was deliver logs and TBH I wont be doing any more until it melts, trying to stop with a trailer on on packed snow in trafic is not fun. log splitting for us unless the parts for the chipper turn up in which case we'll be in the workshop.:001_smile:

Great for towing, loads of power, great off road and luxury comfort!!!!!!!!!!
