Am I a world class grump?

After a bracing walk with the kids to help release an owl that we found a month ago near to our forestry site (a young tawny own, bruised leg and eye infection, a month with a bird sanctuary and it's fine), we popped to McDonalds on the way back.
 
On pulling up, we noticed a new VW Polo sat in the car park with the music far too loud. Crap music too. As we walked past, I saw (from the passenger window) a cup come flying out. I immediately charged over to the car, opened the door and bollocked the young couple (less than 20 yrs old) and insisted the young wench go pick up her litter. They weren't impressed but she did it. 
 
I'm just wondering if I've progressed to the final stage of grumpy old man, complete with forestry worker enhancement? [emoji1]
 
I just can't imagine any other reaction to that sort of behaviour. I absolutely detest littering. There are bins everywhere in a McDs carpark. Not that there is ever an excuse, but when surrounded by bins it's staggering! ?

Well done J, bugs the tits off me, driving to and from work on this island, beautiful countryside, unspoilt but still there are fuckwits who think nothing of throwing red bull cans etc out of window, you can travel maybe 8-10 miles through the glen without a house in sight and still these pricks chuck stuff out the car, boils my piss. Be nice to catch them red handed and ask them why they think it’s ok to do that.

I know that I get away with more due to my size, but I would still exercise a degree of caution.

Pretty much anything but pop. 

 

My personal tastes are punk (mid 80s onwards, not the 1977 stuff), ska, funk, metal, blues, jazz and lots more. On the whole though, I only listen to classical regularly. Any music, made for the right reasons has value, even if it's not to your own personal taste. I can't stand the manufacturered X-Factor type garbage that seems to dominate the charts though.

 

I have respect for anyone that chooses to play an instrument, and plays it well. Doubly so if they can compose something meaningful to themselves too.

It’s utterly disgusting and as easy to avoid doing as actually doing.

Anyone throwing stuff around needs bringing up, whatever it takes.

I asked GreenMech to devise a suckrr on a flail arm to duck up roadside litter! Chuffing hate to see piles off tag packets and coffee mugs vloskbyo junctions!

Never got into Punk or Ska. Not sure why? If I get a few hours to myself in the evenings these days (got a 20 moth old and a 4 month old, plus a 16 year old and a 18 year old. ? ) I put on the 80's Music channels. Weirdly 80's anthems moves me more than I'd ever guess. Even the big 'Cats' hits and Top Gun Hits, nostalgia I guess?  Very weird.

Does Greenday count as Punk? (joke) Not a huge fan of metal. If 'Nu-Metal' counts then Staid are one of my favorites. Mix of Country and Rock. Not into jazz much, but had a blast in New Orleans in the Jazz bars listening to Dueling Pianos. 

Not a huge amount of time for classical to be fair. Although when I hear it it grows on me each time in increasing intensity. 

 

The Waterboys are my number one band though. Been following them since I was a kid. Even went to Findhorn  as a kid when Mike Scot was there. Went to Norway and Ireland to see the Waterboys play. Best Band Ever.

Jonathan . You will always be a  grumpy old git   but ,  you did the right thing mate . If I was as big as you I would do the right thing more often .

At least the littering kids were taught some sort of lesson.i had similar experience earlier in the year but there kids dropped all there junk food wrappers out there car window in front of where we were working we politely said pick it up there is a bin bit further up the road up the road but became clear they didn’t care  .we throw it back through there window and they threw it out again .
