Aspen vs unleaded

Been using aspen for a while now ...recently ran out and had to go back on standard unleaded today when I was waiting for delivery of aspen ...intrested to hear from aspen users which try standard fuel again and what different they noticed in the air quality..(when operator using hedge trimmers and chainsaws ) Had annoying headache this afternoon which I’m convinced was a direct result of using the fuel with some cheap looking 2t oil mixed @50:1 I got in some petrol garage  ....it makes sense now as this use to happen to me before trying aspen .thankfully got the aspen now

I was using Aspen for 6 years, ran out and used some 2 stroke from another cutter!

  The smell of petrol brought back a lot of nostalgia and I cracked on for a few months!

  Not realising I was coughing more and having trouble sleeping!

  I then got diagnosed with Asthma and got some inhalers!

  Went straight back onto Aspen and I’ve not needed my inhaler since!

I've been using Aspen for about that time too and cannot stand the smell of either 2 or 4-stroke pump fuel; yuk.

I've had this conundrum myself lately. I had always used two stroke until Mr @Gray git introduced me to Aspen. Once I set up on my own, I decided I'd move to Aspen solely. However, I simply can't justify the extra cost in my line of work. I was using on average £16-18 worth a day! When you compare that to the equivalent quantity in two stroke, I'm near as dam it saving £10 a day.

 

I must admit I prefer the smell of Aspen, but I can deal with it!

I used to think it was expensive and tried to work out the extra cost while drinking my 2nd of my 3rd take away coffees I’d average every day.

  So I worked out how much a gallon of Cappuccino was.

  £57!!, aspen was £15 bulk !

  So I just prioritised!

  Then I got fed up compromising so put my prices up and had both.

Maybe in the future I’ll go back to Apsen, but for now I’m afraid it’s back to the old dirty 2 stroke for me!

Thinking of switching over for my 200/2511 as they live inside,would it help not stinking the house with 2T ?and do saws need tuning

I ran out of motomix alkylate a couple of months ago. Bought 3 gallons of pump stuff 97/98.
The first five minutes were nostalgic.
Then it just stank.
Could still smell the exhaust fumes at midnight.
I buy several 55 litre drums at a time now.

Aspen since 2011 both fuel and chain oil for the saws most used and hedge cutters.

I currently keep SP98 mix in truck for the larger saws and blower but this will change by Autumn.

I hate the smell of pump mix.

Yesterday I passed another outfit strimming and blowing roadside, whatever mix they where using was vile, bitter fumes which stank my cab out windows down.
