Any of you guys actually had a saw do the above and tested out your ppe whilst on a job? Hopefully you haven’t gone as deep or even had serious injury of course!

I've never accidentally put my leg on the trestle while cutting firewood. A bloke I was working with a long time ago put a saw down on the end of his boot while it was still running down, that was the only accident I actually saw with my own eyes.

I think most folk think chainsaw trousers are cut proof when in reality they only reduce the injury rather than prevent an injury.

When im felling a big stem ive got a bad habit of propping our 660 side handle on my knee as i start a back cut,a kickback into my knee would be catastrophic going on the evidence in that video...

Rachet strapping the trousers to the log isn't going to give a fair outcome as the likelihood of the material working the way it should is almost non-existent. Added to the fact that the trousers aren't new, the saw is being used in a way in which never going to happen in industry and I'd say that this is pretty much a waste of 9 minutes.

I'd say that its great and definately valuable video about the dangers of old chainsaw trousers from a guy who sells new chainsaw trousers.
